No job, no girlfriend, but maybe $1m

Ron Sharon has had a run of bad luck, first being made redundant and then his girlfriend deserted him to become a porn star. But he’s not letting it all get him down. He’s decided to change his life and make a million dollars selling the contents of his apartment on eBay. Like most of us he hasn’t actually got a million dollars worth of possessions but he’s not letting that deter him. He’s appealing to bidders to go mad and help him raise the money anyway!

So what does he have on offer? Well if you fancy 3 blue plates, 3 blue mugs and 4 blue soup bowls you’re in luck (I guess the fourth plate and mug got broken at some stage in the past!). Perhaps a cup with Hebrew writing on it would make a set for when you have guests.

Everything starts at $1 – Ron should have read our blog “10 Ways to reduce your eBay bill“, he could halve his listing fees by knocking a cent off and starting them at 99c. His titles could be better too, more descriptive keywords, and use all the available characters to give a greater chance of his items being found in search.

I’m struggling to see Ron reach his target, but you have to admire his optimism. His first eBay listings went live in the early hours of the 8th February so in 30 days time we’ll know if he made his million!
