To celebrate the Chinese New Year Skype are giving away 24 free minutes of SkypeOut to all US and Canada based users. Visit the Skype website to claim your credits.
It’s a limited offer and Skype have given no indication how long it will be available. Why they’ve not made it a worldwide promotion hasn’t been revealed, but possibly it’s to bring back users that refused to pay $29.95 for unlimited free calls on Skype in the US. It would be interesting to know what the take up for this offer is – those with the free call plan will get no additional benefit. Of course in the UK anyone that spent £10 on Skype services before January 1st still has free SkypeOut to landlines for six months.
