Discovery Channel closes 103 stores to sell on eBay

Discovery, who also operate the Satellite/Cable Discovery Channel, are to close 103 loss making retail outlets making 1000 employees redundant. after losing tens of millions of dollars a year they could no longer justify the cost on the grounds of brand awareness but will instead concentrate on their own ecommerce store and site such as Amazon and of course their Discovery Channel eBay Shop. They will also look for new partnerships such as their current deal with Toys’R’us and promoting their merchandise through their TV channels.
