eBay University and eBay Live!

I booked my flight and hotel for eBay Live today, which led me to thinking back to eBay University which I attended a couple of weeks ago. eBay Live is the star studded event that every serious eBay seller should attend at least once, but in the UK eBay University is streets ahead of the US.

The US eBay University only offers the Selling Basics and Beyond the Basics courses, but in the UK a much more in-depth syllabus is available. You can tailor your own topics to suit your needs covering everything from setting up your eBay seller account, trading safely online, Marketing your eBay business, selling tools to streamline your business, finance and tax, and of course more advanced topics such as Comparison shopping, selling strategy and tactics and the ever informative Channel Advisor business metrics to help you analyse your business performance.

This year the program is more flexible than ever with a bonus for PowerSellers – a separate lounge with account managers on hand to give one to one tuition on different aspects of the eBay site. If you’re a PowerSeller and have a particular problem I’d strongly recommend attending, and if you have an account manager drop them an email and find out which of the eBay Universities they’ll be attending. There’s nothing like meeting someone face to face to cement a relationship!

The remaining eBay University events are scheduled for June 9th in London, Sept 22nd in Glasgow and Nov 10th in Manchester!

I’m looking forward to eBay Live which is only a month away now. Over 10,000 eBay Community members, industry experts, and exhibitors meet to network, discover new strategies and solutions, and share their passion for eBay. Similar to the PowerSeller Lounge at eBay University, eBay experts are on hand to guide you through the site and assist with any and every question that you have. In addition there are numerous exhibitors covering every third party application and service possible as well as guest speakers selected for their industry experience. There’s one speaker I’m guessing that Sue won’t be able to resist attending… the irrepressible Seth Godin who’s blog is the 20th most popular in the world!

If you’ve not booked eBay Live yet, it’s not too late and there are still some great travel deals available on lastminute.com. Even though Boston is a fairly expensive city in US terms with the Dollar weak against the Pound there are some bargains to be had for visitors from the UK. We’ll see you there 🙂
