A new USB device has hit the market which allows you to call Skype users for free, and low cost SkypeOut world wide calls from your mobile phone! The MobiGater is a Skype to GSM and GSM to Skype Gateway which connects via USB to your PC and redirects calls from Skype to your mobile and vice versa.
The MobiGater needs a SIM card from your mobile provider, and advice on their site suggests choosing a calling plan that offers cheap calls between subscribers of the same network (business, family or other group with cheap internal calls). Many calling plans include a number of free minutes per month so if you need to make calls while on the move this could be just the device for you.
I already use a USB dongle to connect Skype from my computer to my DECT landline handset, I much prefer it to using a headset and be tied to my computer. To connect to mobile handsets was the next logical step which is now a reality.
