It’s reminiscent of the eBay/PayPal stand offs of the past: eBay Live at Anaheim was by all accounts crazy.
BUT I’d read one big difference. The eBay community were begging executives to work WITH PayPal to make it easier to make payments. Difficult to know whether there is a similar groundswell of community interest. That’s something you guys will be able to report. ;o)
Certainly in the UK, no such enthusiasm for Google Checkout exists.
I think it’s indicative of changing times: the argument in Anaheim was about simple functionality of getting payment from buyer to seller; the argument with Google Checkout is much more about offering more professional sellers a choice of who their money goes to, and politically about breaking the eBay/Paypal monopoly, recognising we’re in a more sophisticated place now.
Eek, sorry Dan, I deleted your comment by mistake :O
The weather is on our side – Mountie just changed his mind about wearing shorts 😀
Please report – is Mountie in shorts a good thing or….???
Mountie in shorts is very much like Mountie not in shorts only with shorter trousers 😉
