Oxford posties in wildcat strike

No primary category set

Postal deliveries in and around Oxfordshire are expected to be delayed after 150 staff walked out of the Cowley sorting office yesterday. Talks last night to try to resolve the issue broke down without any positive result. The Oxford Mail Centre handles all post coming into the county, and similar action two years ago cause widespread disruption. The unofficial strike is over the suspension of two workers – one a union official – from the sorting office. Royal Mail have apologised for the action and called on strikers to return to work.
