eBay UK have just announced a cheap listing day for Wednesday 22nd August. Insertion fees for auction style listings only will be at 50% of the normal rate. If you choose to add a BIN price to your auction, that will be charged at the normal rate. Buy It Now core listings are not eligible for the promotion, and all other listing upgrades including Gallery will be charged at normal rate. As usual, multiple item listings (Dutch auctions) are excluded.
Media categories qualify too, with insertion fees reduced to 2p for items starting at 99p or less, and 5p for everything else.
There’s nothing particularly surprising about this promotion: it follows eBay’s current line of promoting auctions above everything else. UK sellers are perhaps fortunate in getting a couple of days notice: we’d recommend listing plenty on Tuesday, as the extra visibility when every other seller is concentrating on the CLD is probably worth a lot more than a few pence saved on listing fees.
