From this month eBay have made it possible to add a charity donation to live listings on the site. Previously this was impossible and the charity and donation percentage had to be added whilst creating the listing. Charity sellers have been asking for this feature as occasionally they’d forget to select the charity when listing and were unable to add it in a revision.
So long as an auction has more than 12 hours remaining using the revise item link sellers can now add a charity and increase the percentage of their donation. Sellers will be unable to change the benefiting charity or reduce the percentage donation.
Increasing the donation percentage is great news. It’ll allow sellers to increase the amount going to charity on those occasions where an auction takes off and realises a value many times that which was originally expected. That in itself will attract more bidders to the listing.
Currently the ability to edit live listings to add a charity or increase the donation percentage is not available through TurboLister. You’ll need to edit the listing live on the site.
