It’s a major coup for PayPal, they’ve struck a deal to allow PayPal to be used on World of Warcraft for monthly subscription payments. Up until now only card payments have been accepted. World of Warcraft reportedly has over 9 million users worldwide.
Online gaming is huge business and the potential for both new PayPal accounts to be opened and for existing ones to be used is immense. Seeking Alpha also point out that many subscribers will be underage and/or without credit card which could make PayPal funding even more attractive. What they fail to point out is that to hold a PayPal account you have to be eighteen years or older. The move could result in many underage gamers opening new accounts.
