They have the same problems adding PayPal to Half.com and Stubhub.
Here is the answer I got: The ROI on the integration was not sufficient enough to justify the integration.
So it is okay for large online retailers to pay the integration freight to add PayPal but not eBay’s own companies.
If they eBay management got their collective heads out of their spreadsheets long enough to think about this, the PR value outweighs the ROI. Now that this information is available Online Retailers should be upset.
BTW, I did not hear this from an eBay employee but someone none the less who is privy to the info.
the PR value outweighs the ROI
And then there’s the negative PR value of *not* doing so. Oh dear 🙁
Sheesh what is it with companies that don’t use their own products? 😯
Can you imagine an eBayer selling packaging that didn’t use the packing tape they sell? Or me selling HP printers but using a Canon printer? It’s just bizarre! eBay companies need to pull their fingers out and use their own products whenever appropriate, not just whenever it’s convenient
Amazing !
