eBay France celebrates 10m users with a blog

eBay France reached ten million users this week, and launched their new blog to celebrate. One in three internet users in France now uses eBay, and according to Alex Von Schirmeister, DG of eBay France, that ten million relates to unique users, not multiple account holders. An online Q&A session with M. Von Schirmeister reveals that French eBay users share the same concerns as eBay members the world over: feedback, fakes and fees. I can’t pretend that the answers were very exciting, but it *is* nice to see the chief executive of the national site stick his head above the parapet and at least be seen to be answering questions. Likewise, one very nice feature of eBay France’s blog is that they allow comments on the blog posts themselves, unlike The Chatter which spins them off to a separate discussion board. All in all, a pretty impressive showing of “listening to the community” from eBay France, and one that it would be nice to see eBay UK emulate.
