Just as you thought it was safe to log back into eBay now the messages about unpaid seller fees have disappeared another glitch hits the site. Now anyone who created a new eBay account today (or changed their User ID or registered email address) can not log onto eBay.
The seller fees email was disturbing, and caused anxiety for sellers who worried they may be unable to list due to unpaid fees. Many made one time payments as instructed prior to eBay announcing it was a glitch which caused the emails to be sent. The new sign in problem is more serious. How many new eBayers will have joined eBay today? What will they think when their first experience of the site is that they can’t log back in, to place that bid on the item that first attracted them?
Sellers, and especially experienced sellers will view the unpaid fees email as just another typical eBay gripe but it won’t deter them selling. Brand new buyers registering for the first time may be so confused that they never come back. This really is bad news 🙁
