eBay UK announcement on view item changes

No primary category set

about the changes to the view item page we noted earlier in the week. It’s not the most wordy of communications, so here it is in full:

We wanted to let you know that over the next couple of months, 2% of users will be shown two different versions of the View Item pages. We are testing alternative layouts to see which makes it easier for buyers to understand what is displayed and to find what they are looking for on eBay.co.uk.

Depending on the test results and your feedback, these changes might be made available to more users.

Two layouts, as well as only 2% of users seeing them, suggests that eBay are not yet committed to the new layout; everything, as they are fond of saying, is on the table. So if you’re one of the lucky 2%, be sure to make your opinions heard; if you’re not, here are some screenshots, and be sure to leave us a comment. If you’re seeing something different, please grab us a screenshot!

  1. I logged into my ebay to check on sales last week only to find i was one of the ‘unlucky’ 2% 😐

The new layout is so slow. How it will be easier to use for new users is beyond me. Its far more complicated.

I sent a swift complaint to my account manager to get my listings back to normal.
