The eBay shop has had a complete revamp and opened with tons new product lines. Even better they now ship worldwide so if you’re after some eBay merchandise they’ll even ship to the UK.
I couldn’t resist so I had to do a test purchase (no I’m not going to say what 😛 ). First thing that struck me was that they DON’T accept payment via PayPal! I’m amazed that an officially authorised outlet selling eBay merchandise only accept credit cards – didn’t anyone tell them that PayPal is the safest way to pay online?
The second surprise was a nice one, they didn’t charge me anything for shipping. I was expecting to at least pay a premium for an international purchase, and I’m not sure if this was a mistake or if it’s intentional but I’m not complaining either way.
If you’re after some eBay goodies there’s sure to be something of interest (I recommend the recycled notebooks – they’re fab, I picked one up at eBay live!).
They can also cater for bulk orders and even customise items with your eBay User ID, email them at [email protected] for more information on special orders.
Updated I’ve actually spoken to the eBay shop today and they’ve been flooded with orders from the UK so please hold off placing any more orders for a few days. I’ll update the post again once they’re set to ship. There will be shipping charges so if you’re really desperate for some cool eBay merch in the meantime give them a call on 1866-252-3229 😀

recycled and than sent half way around the world
sort of defeats the object
“First thing that struck me was that they DON’T accept payment via PayPal!”
Speaks volumes.
Jesus.
I’ve been having a further mooch around the site and their T’s and C’s state that they accept PayPal, it’s just when you come to check out the only option in the drop down is credit card. I’m guessing it’s a normal FUBAR
Uh oh, I’ve just found another T and C that they should have highlighted at checkout or when I created my account 😯
We are happy to ship orders to many countries outside the United States. Due to customs policies that vary widely from country to country, we ask that all international orders be handled by phone. Please call 1-866-252-EBAY and ask to speak to The eBay Shop Customer Service Representative to place your order. Note that the recipient will be responsible for all applicable duties, taxes and fees.
It’s a bit late now I’ve placed an order isn’t it?? Anyone got any ideas what happens now? 😮 You know what – they should scrap the site, open an eBay shop, get Frooition to design it and sell on eBay. Would solve all of their new-site-brokedness and International ordering problems.
In fact can anyone tell me why eBay license a shop selling eBay merch which isn’t running on the eBay platform in the first place?
First comes the notepad – They can also cater for bulk orders and even customise items with your eBay User ID
Sounds fantastic!
Except for one thing … after the notepad, will we be forced to buy other eBay merch? For example, eBay packaging perhaps?
I wonder …
They can’t force you to buy anything 😀
“eBay packaging perhaps?”
Lindy, if you’re going back to the post “by the ex-eBay employee”, it *is* a fake, you do know that?
that big business all over.
you would think at the board meeting one bright spark would put forward the idea of an ebay shop with paypal if nothing but to highlight the suitablity of the brand.
no the go off spend K’s on this and that research and it was under there nose all the time.
lol
now onto the nhs.
cant think why anyone would want or need such rubbish
and to actually pay for it takes some grasping
I’m with north, why pay to advertise eBay ?
I would 😀 Advertise ebay, bring buyers, bring sales, put money in my pocket. No question. 😉
*looks at all of ebay free merch around the desk area* 😯
Dammit.
I could not resist the lure of a USB plasma orb….
Or the metal folding weather station/alarm clock…
Regardless of the fact they have eBay branding or not, they are both satisfying my need for gadgetry at a relatively low cost!
I am too puzzled why it’s on a seperate website not an eBay Shop/Store. Methinks it might be they would fall foul of SNP pretty quickly…
I was surprised too that they want international sellers to make a phone call to the US.
Emailed them about it and got a quick reply advising me that they’d be happy to help with an email order.
I asked for a size guide as well for the clothing. Any regular eBay seller will put more info in about their items than the eBay shop has.
And she also said she’d be sending me the FedEx rates, so I don’t think free shipping is the regular thing they do 🙁
See what they come back with.
oh, and it says that they DO accept PayPal. Saw it in their Terms and Conditions for payment. Maybe it was changed???
I think free shipping wasn’t intended and I will be charged carriage, they’re just getting set up for International buyers and getting flooded with orders. They do accept PayPal, it should be enabled on the site soon 😀
