Fire in Cardiff sorting office

A quick heads-up for those with buyers in the Cardiff area: a fire in the Penarth Road sorting offce this morning is likely to cause some delays to deliveries in the area. 150 staff were evacuated from the building after a fire started in a loading bay. No one was injured, and a spokesman said most of the mail would either already have been sent out to be delivered or is in a separate room.

Royal Mail have said that there would be some disruption to deliveries in CF10, CF11 and parts of CF23 and CF24. Customers wishing to collect parcels are asked to stay away for the time being.
