I like the amateurishly leant placards, and the seeming lack of bustle as if they’ve chosen one of the least busy corners of the station. Can see this being successful as a temporary pissoir.
😆
Good grief, it’s so bad you couldn’t make it up.
honesly, better to not have done anything than embarass themselves like this. Either do it right or dont do it at all.
Gina: it reflects badly on eBay itself. But doesn’t it reflect badly on sellers too?
ebay works despite those that are in charge of it ,
rather than because of them,
does anyone remember the stallholder program of years ago
where ebay invited the daft, stupid ,and barmy, to plug ebay at fairs and markets ,
I am certain George Bush must work for ebay there have been so many gaffs
Not to mention the Gift wrap bollock drop 😀
Gift wrapping was a fantastic debacle, although when you think of it all these ideas sound great when you’re imagine the PR agency telling eBay what they’ll do for them….
Hey eBay, how about we get everyone that has a market stall to tell punters to buy on eBay? Giftwrapping for Christmas is popular in Debenhams for lazy blokes that buy their lover some perfume and don’t want the missus to see them wrapping it – how about all eBay sellers offer giftwrapping service so that punters won’t be disappointed until their gift is opened on Christmas day and it’s too late to return it? eBay USB Christmas tree lights were a hit last year, how about we stick up eBay Christmas trees in all the mainline rail stations? The old eBay-Christmas association is brill for getting people to like the site……
Mind you, the old USB lights were great, everyone that didn’t get a set were desperate for them so they must have been good 😉
looks like something attempted, by someone Alan Sugar fired from the Apprentice
Oooh that reminds me – must dig out my USB Christmas tree from the garage 😛
Blimey, the stallholder programme. A long, long time ago. Funnily norf, a lot of people did do it. Hundreds of em. And a lot of people were unhappy when it stopped.
just shows how gullible people are ,and how even ebay made use of their gullibility,
they got someone to advertise their business for nowt at a rival venue and market place is a classic
its a bit like that ebay uni thing I could never quite work out the logic of it
you pay them £50 ,to teach you, how to make them, more money, 🙄
#12 Amazon must have been watching Norf, they advertise on eBay now 😆

😆 I fear the end is near 😀
ebay are milking the bloody site and then going to do a runner 😆
I think you are right norf, still, we will take as much cash from the great un-washed as we can before it all goes tits-up 😆 and until that day comes it is business as usual,,
*list and hope*
😆
no problems here whirly
thanks to America and Australia
ebay still works, and very well though buyers attitudes are very different , they are often a serious pain these days, but their money still spends,
we have had to adjust a little, buy and sell different things ,pay less for stock, carry less stock ,etc
I agree Norf, eBay is still providing the traffic..only dif these days is.. in 2005 trading on eBay was similar to recieving a booty call from Sharon Stone, in 2008 it’s a toss up between Hilary Clinton and Heather Mills. 😆
“hi why would i choose you product over cheeper alternatives even when i only live 5 miles from your shop/factory convince me not to go elsewere and i will pop over and buy your cheers *** from waltham chase”
I rest my case 😆
yer mean Ebay trading is like Ann Widdicombe these days
and in 1998 it was like having your own personal money printer in the back office

“what do you mean, no thanks?”
“I mean, no thanks. I don’t have the time or inclination to spend valuable time dealing with you, if you want to purchase elsewhere then please do so, I do not need your money or the hassle. I have added you to my blocked bidders list and informed my account manager, if you or any member related to you tries to purchase a product from me it will be rejected/cancelled…life is to short to spend it wasting time dealing with deadbeats, so to summise..I don’t want your order, money or anything to do with you….now, I have a 2005 margaux to enjoy so please do not disturb me again.”
Yawn…only on eBay.
#21 Do you think they’ll know what “Margaux” is?
#22 I they don’t, standards are slipping. 😉
#21 – Margaux? Surname wasn’t Hemingway was it?
😉
#22 #23 I have a confession, it was a 2008 bottle of mygosh from Spar 😆

Surely the Charing Cross pic qualifies?
