The one keyword you should have on adcommerce

No primary category set

I’ve seen mixed success with Adcommerce with generally low click through rates, but one tip I’ve picked up (thanks Clarence) is to make sure you include your own eBay User Id.

mountieadcommerceThe chances are you don’t include your eBay ID in any listing titles and if you search for it on eBay it’ll probably be like mine and return no search results. Set up an Adcommerce campaign with a fairly low daily budget (a couple of quid will be fine), and set the click through rate to one pence. Make sure you include your eBay User ID, eBay shop name and any common mis-spellings or variations.

Now if any of your previous buyers need to find you on eBay and search for your eBay ID they’ll find you and it’ll cost just a single penny to bring a returning customer back into your eBay shop.

If you’ve got any other great tips around Adcommerce be sure to let us know in comments below.

  1. Great idea ! This should encourage sellers to create low cost AdCommerce campaigns based on misspelling/variations of their competitors user ID’s and store names 🙂

  2. we dont want past customers to find us

they may be looking for their money back 😀 😀 😀 😀

  3. Hey Whirly I’ve had a pretty poor failure with adcommerce. It appears to work much better with categories and products where buyers tend to browse than it does for my items. Trouble is everything I want to advertise always appears above the adcommerce advert kinda destroying the whole point 😀

  4. I’ve just done 5 searches and all adcommerce links have disappeared. Replaced by what looks like Google text ads

Someone hear said that eBay told them you only see adcommerce ads 4 times. I’m guessing it has something to do with that limit.

  6. Does AdCommerce work on title keywords only, or does it also include keywords from descriptions ?

If title only, then I cannot see many sellers using the limited title characters allowed to include their eBay ID and/or variations of ?

Whole different ball game though IF AdCommerce include within description keywords!

  7. Hey Eddie, AdCommerce does work on title keywords only.

However the whole point is that *no one* uses the limited title space for their eBay ID. That’s why you use those keywords because if you search eBay for your user ID the only thing that you’ll get is a null search result and a nice ad for your shop – check out the image above:

0 results for mountcomp (but here’s a nice link to my eBay shop)

  8. #8 Well I’ve been on ebay all day and still no adcommerce adds anywhere, just google. Plus my campaign impressions haven’t increased since noon.

    Anyone still seeing them?
