google baseIf your website sends a feed to Google Base, you need to be aware that as of today, the “condition” attribute will be required for all listings. Acceptable values are new, used, or refurbished.

  1. there will be and was always a problem with the ebay feed because they submit “new with tags” as condition. Until now it was only a problem of the data quality but it is now a problem of being listed or not?

  2. In stamps there is no item specific choice of ‘new’ or ‘used’. There is no ‘new’ and a range of other choices.

This is on the basis that new stamps are only sold at post offices.

    Can it default to used?

eBay needs to do some work?

  3. Hands up anyone that can see Ebay doing anything that might make google some pennies.

  4. #3, I’m not complaining about it, I’d rather have the same items on my web show up as opposed to the same items on eBay.I know which I make more money from 🙂

  5. 550 item uploaded from my eBay feed yesterday morning with 3 invalid conditions, using a program I wrote. Haven’t put in the program a default condition for vinyl records listed on eBay.com yet.

  6. Don’t know what happened with #7.
The link on keithF is to a zip file of the programs I’m using to successfuly upload my eBay feeds to Google. Included is the one I’m using to send a feed of my Fixed Price format listings on eBay.com to Google Base US.

  7. I save my store feed from eBay to an XML file. Then I use Note Pad to change all the descriptions to Used (I sell collectibles and vintage so everything is used). The first time I did this was right after the June 30 deadline and everything listed fine. I have been doing the same this week and Goggle is saying that everything is missing a condition.

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Thanks for any help you can give.

    Craig
