Gumtree's new blog announces site changes

No primary category set

gumtreeGumtree, the eBay owned classifieds site, are getting all social with the launch of a new Blog – “Under the Gumtree“. Promising a mix of posts from Gumtree staff as well as some from site users it offers a mix of trading tips and safety advice alongside fun and quirky stories from the site.

The fun and quirky is already there with the story of a 30 year old who hooked up with a 47 year old granny on Gumtree dating. There’s also a story of someone selling their car in under four hours, but we’ve already beaten that on TameBay with a car sale on Gumtree in under three hours.

Aside from the fun Gumtree are also going to be sharing site changes due to be launched and are already promising a new way to search. Rather than what’s become the defacto standard for classified ads – searching ads by city, they’re working on a significant change that will enable you to search for something nationally, right down to a specific postcode. For all those who’ve previously wanted to use Gumtree but couldn’t, this will be a welcome change. Searching by postcode will open up Gumtree to the whole country rather than just a few select conurbations.

As well as the new blog you can also follow Gumtree on Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and YouTube.
