Google has quietly launched Google Export Adviser which aims to help your business overcome the major barriers to exporting with useful tools, practical insights and relevant offers.
There’s a five step guide to exporting covering Getting your business ready, Finding the right market, The bottom line (with a profitability calculator), Reaching new customers and Payment and delivery.
Google Export Advisor also has a useful opportunity finder tool for those that use AdWords. From a keyword it’ll calculate the cost per click (CPC) in different countries. For instance (one for our regular reader, Whirly), did you know that the CPC for “Bath” is £0.92 to £1.37 in the UK, but as little as £0.20 to £0.27 in Spain?
If you use Adwords it’s worth investigating the costs to target different territories, especially if your items are under 2kg and easily shippable.
Google Export Adviser is partnered with partners including UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), HSBC, Royal Mail, Institute of Export (IoE), Applied Language and Alibaba. With the current currency exchange rates Google Export Adviser has launched at an ideal time for UK merchants to take advantage of overseas sales.

I don’t suppose they got Googlebase up and working again for eBay listings before they started this new “initiative” did they?
Perhaps Google want to promote their checkout product.
