You’ve probably not realised but eBay have introduced threaded emails in My Messages.
However you’ll only see them when you check your My Messages sent items.
This is sadly a half hearted implementation – if you respond to a buyer and they send a follow up question you’ll not see the original email thread unless you check the last reply you sent to them – although thankfully the entire thread will show in emails if you’re working from an email client such as Microsoft Outlook.
New messages as of the 26th are appearing in your My Messages inbox, but only if the buyer continues the same message thread, which is pretty much how standard email works.
I was expecting to be able to see responses in the My Messages inbox and it’s worth a reminder that that’s the only way to guarantee that you never miss a message. Emails can and do go astray, there’s never a surety that they’ll be delivered. There is also a known bug where messages from overseas buyers such as from the US and Canada aren’t always forwarded to email clients.
Threaded messages is an improvement, but currently sellers will still need to switch between their My Messages inbox and sent items to handle customer communications.
