1948 London Olympic games torch on eBay

There are still three years to go until the 2012 Olympics in London, but if you want to grab a bit of authentic memorabilia look back to the previous London games and you can snag one of the from 1948, on eBay.

It took 3,372 torch bearers 13 days to carry the flame from Olympia in Greece to Wembley in London where the games were held. The torch isn’t unique, normally well over a 1000 are used along the route including back up torches in case the flame goes out. Nevertheless it’s a unique piece of history and yours for £7,500.
