PayPal are gearing up to attack the younger market, having already introduced PayPal Student accounts for teenagers in the US, they’ve now hooked up with Microsoft and the Xbox.
Student accounts are funded directly from parents PayPal accounts and so need no credit card information. Parents can either transfer a regular amount or top up when their child has run out of funds.
The Xbox LIVE Marketplace has added PayPal as a payment option, again currently in the US only. It’s also possible to add multiple PayPal accounts to an Xbox LIVE account and I’m guessing it’s just as likely parents will be keen gamers and spending their hard earned cash as well.
