The long-running dispute between Royal Mail and the Communication Workers’ Union may be coming to an end, as the two parties are said to have struck a provisional deal on the company’s modernisation plans.

Industrial action in the second half of last year hit online businesses and other service users hard, before an interim agreement was reached in November saw action called off until talks resumed after Christmas.

Sky is now reporting that the two parties have reached an agreement on modernisation and new working practices, which the CWU will take to their executive later in the week.
