Gumtree have today rolled out Gumtree Accounts – You can now create an account on Gumtree and manage all of your existing, future ads in the one place.
Previously each time you posted an advert on Gumtree you’d get a new Ad reference number and have to create a password for that ad. Even if you always used the same password you’d have to remember multiple reference numbers to be able to edit or end your adverts. Now every ad you’ve created in the past will be available in your Gumtree account (so long as it was created with the same email address).
If you want to set up your Gumtree Account all you need to do is post a new ad on the site (which is free), and on the ad confirmation page you’ll be offered the option to create an account to manage all of your ads in the future.
From within your account you can edit, delete, restore or add upgrades to all of your ads. You can also view ads that you’ve saved and Gumtree will automatically save the last few ads that you’ve looked at so that you can easily find them again.
Accounts on Gumtree have been a long time coming and I’m really pleased that they are here at last. Simply being able to use the same password for all ads that I place on the site is a huge improvement, and of course now that Gumtree have accounts it opens up the opportunity for more account based enhancements in the future.

I have been using gumtree for a while and this is a great way to save time and just login and manage your ads. Great move forward.

Do Gumtree allow you to have adds for your eBay shop and website?
It appears so.
……although this is in the Gumtree rules.
“No links to other websites
Don’t put a link in your ad directing people to further details on another website. Your ad should have all the information and details a reader needs to know, so there’s no need for you to send them elsewhere to view more information. Remember, you can:
use as much space as you like in your ad
edit your ad at anytime
include photos or a YouTube video”
It appears the Gumtree police are as good at their job as the eBay police!
Amazing that Gumtree don’t have a simple link blocker given that they have a rule about it.
