Bling It! & Fluid Mask cut out photo editing tools

I’ve been following a thread on the LinkedIn Online Business Forum with interest because it has reminded me of two products I wrote about several years ago and thought were worth another mention.

One of the biggest problems most eBay sellers have with photos is unsuitable backgrounds. Both Bling! It and Fluid Mask from Vertus solve that problem by swiftly masking the background in a product shot enabling you to “cut out” the item and place it on a plain backdrop.

A few people have downloaded a trial of the software on the Online Business Forum and their comments include “I have downloaded the trial version of Bling it and am amazed at how easy it is to use” and “Just downloaded bling and used it on a troublesome product photo – finally an easier way to remove backgrounds, what a lovely little package!“.

If you’re looking for a way to remove backgrounds from product shots then there’s you can download a 15 day trial for Bling! It and the full lifetime product licence is just £23.74.

Fluid Mask is a Photoshop plugin and more expensive at $177.31, but is well worth the money if you already use Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. Again there’s a fully featured 14 day Fluid Mask trial if you want to road test before you buy.

  1. Maplin are selling a eBay photo studio kit (code no N600GU) https://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=229132 which may be of interest to someone. They say that it offers professional results, I’ve ordered one but I’ve not recieved it yet. It comes with two lights, two coloured background, tripod and side walls which must filter out shadows. My photos are not that good so I need all the help I can get. Think I’ll give Bling It a go as well.

  2. bling it is very good and quite easy to use
though our problem is that it often makes items look too good, and un realistic

  3. I don’t get it. The tools to to this are already in Photoshop.
The main problem with creating white or clear background is taking the photo with diffuse natural daylight balanced lighting. Shiny small white metal eg silver jewellery being the most difficult thing to get right. Larger coloured items or matt items are a synch.
It takes practice, a good lighting rig and an understanding of the editing tools.

  4. bling it is a great little product – well worth the money. Used it for a while, until I had not time to process hundreds of photos.

  5. Thank you for letting me know about Bling It. Its so easy to use you don’t even need to look at any instructions. It just what I need now I’m launching my website.
