Spring DIY weekly deals on eBay

No primary category set

I have to admit I’ve been totally bored with the daily and weekly deals lately. I don’t need any more tech products or yet another hoodie, so it was actually a pleasure today to wake up to some Easter and Spring weekly deals from the Home and Garden category.

The star deal is a with everything you’d need for jobs around the house. It includes a cordless drill, saws, screwdrivers, chisels, pliers and tape measure. For thirty quid it’s not a bad little tool kit and if I didn’t already have one I’d be buying it… I’m actually still tempted as my tools have a habit of going walkabout when people “borrow” them.

I’m hoping that the Daily and Weekly deals will continue to have a wider range of products. Clothing might sell well, but it’s pretty much of no interest to me.

  1. I can understand why clothes have only a limited interest for me(I am 6 foot 4 weight 23 stone with a 53inch chest and long legs). In my case its because nothing ever fits me. But I do not get the impression that Chris Dawson shares my general dimensions so I found myself wonder if he sells his printers on line while nude(I seem to remember reading an article about people who do their housework while nude-thinking about some of the housewives I know the thought is horrifying!”!!).

  2. It is nice to see a category that is usually ignored by both advertising and any real policies getting some much needed attention.

  3. I also think the clothing DOTDs are rubbish. They’re all so samey. I don’t know if it’s the merchants who can/want to take part, or eBay’s outreach team who are unimaginative in who they’re approaching, but it all just seems the same old same old to me.

  4. This is a change for the DORD.

Anyone that has tool’s though, know that there are tools & there are tools.

Most of the bit in this kit could be £ items locally. The drill is only 14.4v, not the preferred & more expensive 18v.

Still parcelled up @ £30 will sell it.

  5. I don’t buy Superdry clothing, so that wipes out a lot of the DOTD offerings…

Although I did buy a Nike hoody the other day…

No intentions of hanging out on street corners however.

  6. Looks a bit of cheap tat to me, imho. How that was ever 80 quid, the mind boggles, the quid shop has just as good stuff, apart from the drill which will be dead within a week probably.

On the otherhand, without wanting to be all miserly, its good to see them changing tact on what they’re selling on DOTD
