The most successful Daily Deal ever at the time was the Polaroid Pogo Mobile Colour Printer which sold 6500 in just eight hours. Now it’s back this time from Zavvi on a one day bargain price.
It’s not quite such a bargain price this time around, last year it was on sale for £19.99, this year the costs £29.99.
There may also be some seriously upset punters this time around – The eBay catalogue information gives a maximum media size of 4″ by 6″ which is pretty impossible for a device just 120mm x 72mm x 23.5mm. In the description the accurate print size of 2″ x 3″ is stated so I hope buyers read the whole page before buying.
It will be interesting to see how well this sells today. The timing is closer to Christmas than it’s last appearance and it would make a great Christmas present, but it’s 50% more expensive than the last time it was on offer and in a recession that’s pretty steep inflation. Not such an attractive deal this year then. Last year Benthams sold 6500 in eight hours. This year Zavvi sell a meagre 680 in 24 hours.
The product is great so I guess it’s all down to the price point. At £19.99 it’s super attractive and worthy of a Daily Deal. At this years price of £29.99 it’s too high a price for an impulse purchase.
