Here’s some of the stuff I’ve been reading lately with an eBay, ecomerce and Amazon bent. These links could be filed inder “quite interesting” but just don’t warrant a full post.
Enterprise nation have been running a series of articles by ecommerce provider Actinic in recent weeks that are well worth a read. Here’s the latest one on building on the early success of your ecommerce website. Links to other articles in the series are at the bottom of the page.
One thing that any ecommerce SME, who has opened their own webstore, will have to consider and explore if the thorny world of SEO (search engine optimisation). This article from Mashable is a good ecommerce SEO overview. If you want to hire an SEO professional, this list looks at the top names in the business with an ecommerce track record.
eBay’s new TV ads have been doing the rounds since last week (they seem to be on Sky Sports a lot in the local boozer). This article considers that the ads signal a further distancing of the eBay brand from its auction heritage.
And finally, more dorsel than morsel. Amazon is under pressure from environmental campaigners to stop it selling whale and dolphin meat. Apparently, it’s jolly popular in Japan.

Regarding the penultimate morsel, I wouldn’t want eBay to abandon the auction format altogether – but can’t come up with any compelling reason why they would?
