It’s many years since eBay insisted that all prices displayed should be VAT inclusive. Today Vistaprint emailed their customers to announce that they too have changed all their prices and they’ll now be displaying VAT inclusive prices instead of tacking it on at checkout. It doesn’t mean that their prices have changed, just that they believe it makes their pricing much clearer up front for their customers.
How do you display VAT on your own website? If you deal mainly with consumers then VAT inclusive pricing makes a lot of sense. However many businesses can reclaim VAT and for business to business transactions it’s more normal to quote prices without VAT and add it on to the invoice.
Are there any circumstances where it makes sense to display online prices net of VAT (such as wholesale website) or would you prefer even these sites to quote prices inclusive of VAT?

Since the vast majority of my sales are B2B I always exlcude VAT on the website. Other than the obvious fact that a good percetage of people can claim the VAT back anyway it just looks cheaper without the VAT on.
