Forget Euro 2012. Forget the football that’ll be played at the Olympics. All anyone is really interested in is would Amazon trounce eBay? Who would win if ChannelAdvisor squared up to eSellerPro? Who’s your main online retailing rival and could you hammer them into the ground in the beautiful game? We had to know who has what it takes and we’re going to find out!
Genie and the Geek had the idea of running the first Ecommerce Football Tournament and Tamebay have helped to bring this gladiatorial contest to life. On the 11th July 2012 the inaugural “Tamebay Ecommerce Cup – Managed by Genie and the Geek” will kick off at Wembley.

Enter your team to play
It’s going to be five-a-side and everyone in the ecommerce world is welcome to field a team (there’ll be a maximum of 16 teams in the Ecommerce Football league so let us know early if you want to play). Already confirmed are eBay, Amazon, ChannelAdvisor, eSellerPro, Flubit, Seko, and Genie and the Geek, so if you think your company can trounce them on the pitch get set for the kick off on the 11th.
We can’t promise that rivals will be purposefully pitched against each other, but if you and your adversary both make it to the final we’ll have no choice but to sit back for a (naturally goodnatured!) showdown.
The Prize
It’s not about medals, it’s the glory of winning that counts! However of course the winning team will get a trophy (of sorts…. it’ll be unlike any trophy ever seen before… we’re scouring eBay and Amazon for something suitable), but more importantly you’ll get the title and kudos of being able to call yourselves the first ever “Champions of the Tamebay Ecommerce Cup – Managed by Genie and the Geek”
If you’d like to enter simply email [email protected]. Deadline for entries is either when we get to 16 teams or Friday 29th June 2012. We now have 16 teams signed up with two more in reserve in case anyone drops out. Please feel free to still email your interest or to come and watch on the day but it looks like we’re fully subscribed for teams 🙂

I realise you may be looking for something quirky but is its a mainstream trophy you require look at Trophies247 on ebay or http://www.trophies247.co.uk – Sponsorship for the excellent Tamebay is available !!
Reckon JustGgiving Allstars would be up for this. Any chance to kick my old pay master would be appreciated. Is it limited to 5 people or can we bring rolling subs etc?
Hi, Yes, subs will be allowed!
Is the alcohol free Tayab? More importantly, will there be a bottle of champers for the winners? 😉
Places are filling up fast!
11 teams have already confirmed. Only 5 places left. Get your team involved!
We are delighted to confirm that we will be there on 11th as well! 🙂
You can count Pentagon in as well. Are women allowed? Most of our staff are recruited from the fairer sex . .
Wish I could fly over for the event! Go Team ChannelAdvisor! Chris-will Tamebay have a team?
Many moons ago(about 30 years) I had a slight involvement with a “Pub Cricket Team”. The Players were supposed to be recruited from the Regulars at the Pub or Club. I was not involved with picking our team but I was a regular in that (in my case) Club. When our team turned out I did not know almost anybody. The person picking the team had recruited various ex-County Players and Current Players for various local teams.
In other words the Teams might have been representing this or that Pub or Club but in reality few had actually ever even entered the establishment.
Do the Rules(if any) of this Competition actually requiure Players to be Employees of said organisation?
