eBay owned Magento has released new UK specific features for Magento Go, the Software as a Service version of its Magento eCommerce platform. Royal Mail integration, VAT, Cookie compliance and PayPal integration are some of the new market specific features and capabilities added. There’s also volume based pricing and the M2E Pro extension which fully integrates Magento into the eBay platform is pre-enabled.
Magento Go offers the power and flexibility of Magento – the platform chosen by many of the world’s most respected brands at an affordable price (£9.99, £19.99, £39.99 or £79.99 per month). Plans are based on the number of SKUs you have along with corresponding increasing levels of storage, bandwidth and support.
There are any number of shopping cart solutions available in the UK, such as ekmPowershop and OSCommerce so why should you consider Magento? The main reason has to be X.Commerce. Whilst X.Commerce hasn’t done much yet so far as things you can use today, if eBay’s plans work out Magento Go then in the future a whole host of applications will be made available through the X.Commerce fabric.
Already PayPal Access is available to all Magento Go merchants allowing customers to shop easily on Magento Go websites with just their PayPal user names and passwords.
If you’d like a road test there is a fully functional 30 day Magento Go trial for up to 100 SKUs. If you already use Magento Go then you can request access to the new UK specific features at no additional cost.
