Day 1 of the Olympics and Day 1 of eBay Deals “. JJB sports are supplying the merchandise and eBay are providing prime position as the top category on the Daily Deals website to make the clothing available.
Currently hopes of a British Gold (or any!) medal have been dashed in the 250km cycling, but there is plenty of bike riding left to come and the rowing and sailing are looking promising.
It would be hard for anyone to fault the spectacular opening ceremony starting from the scene of Englands green countryside working through the Industrial age and into the present with the NHS and my favourite charity Children’s charity (who you can support on eBay) being highly featured.
The one complaint over the running of Day 1 of the 2012 Games appears to be the vast banks of empty seats at some of the venues. LOCOG are guessing that it’s probably corporate seating as it’s those in the best positions and the most expensive that are vacant. It’s certainly not an inability to sell them – fans are still clamouring for seats, it’s just incompetence and what happens when you give a large wodge of tickets to be distributed based on sponsorship. Companies are more interested in getting their logo and goods shown than in making sure their ticket allocation will go to people actually interested enough in sport to bother turning up.
Overall the London 2012 games got off to a great start and and great first day. All indications are that now we’ve got through the dire experience of the brand police the athletes from around the world and especially those in Team GB are set to give a spectacle that Britain can be proud of.
If you want to (as eBay phrase it to avoid the brand police) “Show your colours” and buy some jump onto eBay from the comfort of your armchair before they sell out.
