It’s no secret that I love an innovative bit of techy kit, and there’s one such gem on this weeks eBay Weekly Deals. It’s a aff_link("https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280881959008","Dell 1090 Duo laptop","","UK"); ?> which converts with a quick flick of the screen into a Windows 7 Tablet Computer.
I know there’s the iPad and a host of Android tablets and if that’s what suits you they’re good solutions. Apple iPad’s aren’t for me though – I’ve never downloaded iTunes and have no desire to do so, plus they’re pretty pricy. Android tablets all look pretty cool, but they’re limited for apps compared to a Windows device.
The Dell Duo is a cross between a tablet and a netbook. It’s a decent sized screen, halfway decent processor and memory, and a 320 Gb hard drive. Sure it’s a little heavier than an iPad or Android tablet, but it does a whole lot more and when you’re not using it as a Tablet it’s a perfectly adequate netbook.
I’m trying hard to justify buying one, but I can’t really. I have a laptop and a netbook and if I had a Dell Duo it really wouldn’t get used much. However if you’re in the market for a netbook then I’d definitely recommend checking the Duo out. The Weekly Deal is for a aff_link("https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280881959008","refurbished Dell Duo for £289.00","","UK"); ?> and for that you’re getting a netbook and a tablet with the bonus of Windows 7, an operating system that’ll run all of the programs you use every day, including of course the likes of eBay’s TurboLister which won’t run on either an iPad nor an Android device.
