There are many parcel delivery companies springing up, but Collect Plus has just gone one step further and opened a new location bang in the middle of the Meadowhall Shopping Centre in Sheffield for collecting or dropping off parcels.
The opening underlines Collect Plus’ response to the busy lives of its customers and commitment to creating convenient destination points throughout the UK. Like all other Collect Plus stores, the customer service desk at Meadowhall uses PayPoint technology to enable customers to collect and send parcels, meaning that they will then be able to accurately track their package every step of the way.
The new Collect Plus Parcel Point gives Meadowhall staff as well as the 25 million plus shoppers that visit the shopping centre each year the choice of dropping off parcels, or collecting online purchases, at a time and a place convenient to them.
Over 85% of people in UK towns are within a mile of a one of the 4700 Collect Plus shop, which are normally based in stores and petrol stations. Most of these locations open early until late and often seven days a week.
It makes sense for shoppers to be able to collect or drop off parcels easily and conveniently. It will especially suit the casual seller who perhaps can’t get to the Royal Mail Post Offices during their normal opening times. Plus Post Offices are traditionally in the high street and are often not located in the shopping malls. If the Collect Plus Meadowhall pilot Parcel Point proves to be a success expect them to open more Parcel Points across the country.
