In stark contrast to the UK, for private sellers. In the UK the final value fee cap for private sellers was raised to £75.00, but eBay Italy have just lowered the fee from the 30th of August from €55.00 down to a maximum of €45.00. At the same time for items which sell for below €500.00 they’ve lowered the final value fee percentage from 11% to 9%.
Private sellers on eBay Italy will also get up to 75 free Buy It Now insertion fees between 30th August and the 30th of November. That’s in addition to the free insertion fees for auction style listings.
It’s worth remembering that there are differences between fee structures on many eBay sites, but within the EU and worldwide. Whilst it’s tempting to envy the lower fees of eBay Italy, eBay UK claim that the higher fees reflect the value provided by the site. In truth most professional sellers welcomed the increase in private seller fee cap in the UK and saw it as a leveling of the playing field between business and private sellers.

Many UK sellers sell on eBay Italy but again – all these promos are geared towards personal, not business accounts.

I’m not surprised Italy ebay is having problems. We no longer supply to Italy as we have “lost” more items to Italy than the rest of the world including the UK combined. Until they resove that problem or at the very least make “losses” more difficult to claim for, they are sadly doomed.
hmmm, will the FVF reduction offset the amount of items ‘lost’ in the Italian postal system, I doubt it…
We simply don’t post there any more because – as someone above said – Italy’s postal losses amount to more than the rest of the world combined.
It was a simple business decision to block them from buying from us.
