Ex PayPal President joins Kabbage board

Scott Thompson, former president of PayPal, former CEO of Yahoo! and current CEO of ShopRunner has joined the board of small business finance company Kabbage.

Kabbage say that “Because Scott successfully led PayPal through its most formative and highest growth years, we will definitely be benefiting from his knowledge and expertise as we continue to grow“. While at PayPal servicing as Chief Technology Officer before being appointed PayPal President, Scott helped scale the company through its most rapid growth years. He oversaw revenues grow from $1 billion to $4.4 billion in revenues, and established PayPal as the leading global online payment service.

Scott himself says “I enjoy working with, and believe I can have the most impact on, companies that are re-inventing the ways financial services are delivered to consumers and small businesses. And specifically, by working with organizations that are uncovering new and unique methods of leveraging data science to attack a massive market”.

Kabbage currently operate in the US, offering short term loans to online sellers. They’ve yet to launch in the UK but will be exhibiting at the Ecommerce Expo show next week, on the 2nd and 3rd of October at Olympia.
