Following on from the record US Thanksgiving sales through mobile the trend has continued on Black Friday. eBay saw a 153% increase on mobile transactions compared to Black Friday last year and overall PayPal mobile payments were up 193% on the same day last year. GSI was up the most with a 198% increase in mobile sales this Black Friday.

eBay are offering great deals both in the UK with the Sunday Spectacular deals which last week sold £800K and kick off again at 8am tomorrow. In the US they’re offering deals of up to 60% off brands such as Apple, Canon, HP and Sony right through to Monday.

On Friday eBay saw sales of 250 Apple iPhone 4S per hour from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. PST, 1 Xbox 360 12-month subscription per second from 12 a.m. to 3 a.m. PST, and 250 iPad 2s per hour from 12 a.m. to 8 a.m. PST.

As well as the eBay web deals eBay are also offering eBay iPhone app users exclusive access to mobile-only deals all weekend and on Monday. Shoppers simply click on the “Shop After Hours” banner in the app to shop for fantastic deals anytime, anywhere.

  1. These figures mean nothing at all for the marketplace/paypal without full numbers for both mobile and non-mobile.

  2. Had to go into the office today, to help pick all the sales. Can’t believe how much has sold on ebay…and still selling. I think I chose the right Dr Martens stock this year!

  3. I am in the office too but Royal Mail’s despatch manager online is not working. It is a nightmare. Anyone know when it will be fixed?

  4. They may be keen on mobile, but they dont get how retailing works. All those one off mobile purchases are missed sales opportunites – they really dont get it do they? how would it be if I popped into Tescos and just bought milk?
