Ecommerce marketplace experts, Genie and the Geek, have had their most successful month to date, achieving £1 million turnover in November alone.

Based in Old Trafford, Manchester, the company is a leading ecommerce business, specialising in online marketplaces. It provides a range of services for brands and retailers looking to outsource all, or part of their online sales function. Genie and the Geek lists fashion brands Religion and Dune, automotive manufacturers Ford and cosmetic label The Nail and Beauty Emporium among its clients.

Set up by self-confessed ‘Manchester lad’ and entrepreneur Tayyab Akhlaq in 2011, the business operates as part of the My1stWish Group – a fashion-forward online women’s clothes store. As an expert in ‘etailing’ end of line stock, Genie and the Geek provides services, including strategy consultancy advice, picking and packing, design and build of eBay shops, photography, fulfillment, customer service, returns management and reporting.

Managing director, Tayyab said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to have reached this milestone at such an early stage of the business’ life. This achievement proves that ecommerce marketplaces are the future of retailing for brands that want to prosper in 2013 and beyond.

“Removing their own picking and packing, photography and stock management services alone can save retailers large sums of money and it enables them to concentrate on what they do best, as well as maximising profits from end of line stock2.

“Our wealth of knowledge in this area knows no bounds, so we’re heading into 2013 in a very exciting position.”

Genie and the Geek is an official eBay Service provider, with extensive links in the ecommerce industry. These include close partnerships with eBay, Amazon, PayPal and eSellerPro.

Congratulations from Tamebay to Tayyab and the entire Genie and the Geek team. Now all we need is someone to give them a run for their money at football in 2013, as in addition to their record breaking month they walked away with the Tamebay Ecommerce Cup in 2012!
