We’ve been hunting around for boxes for when Royal Mail’s new pricing and parcel sizes come into effect and to be honest had little luck in finding a 16x16x16cm box which is the exception for the small parcel size.
Then today, we received an email from Tom of Zetland Boxes and they’ve just introduced a ranges specifically for the new Royal Mail sizes. If you’re struggling to find boxes (and especially for the 16cm cube it must be a box, not a jiffy bag with dimensions small than the box), Zetland Boxes are able to supply in time for the 2nd April when Royal Mail’s changes kick in.
16cm Cube box
The one you won’t find in too many other places is the box with internal measurements of 155x155x155mm and the external dimensions are the magic 16cm cube. We’ve checked and items up to 20cm long which bulge up to about 10cm in the middle quite happily sit diagonally within this size.
Small Parcel Box
The Small Parcel Box has been specifically designed for the small parcel Royal Mail sizes and has internal dimensions of 440x340x70mm with external dimensions of 450x350x80mm.
Medium Parcel Box
If you do have to post larger items then the medium parcel box is the one to go for. Internally it measures 550x400x435mm with external dimensions of 560x410x455mm.
You can find more information for prices and ordering on the new Postage Box website. Get your order in early to be ready for the 2nd April!

Cool, I shall be getting some of these ‘small’ boxes when my retail operation is up and running!
Big Problems ahead, we will know the sizes, packaging box people will know the size, but the guerkins behind the post office counters and the cabbages at royal mail wont?

To be honest if it is only 20cm long and it only bulges 10mm then you surely are going to fit it in a large letter?
No doubt with the exception of Tamebay editors ( 🙂 ) we have all got used to sticking long narrow things diagonally in large letters so sticking slightly shorter thicker things diagonally in a cube should be a piece of cake for most.
PS yes I did missread the story but left this up anyway! It reinforces the point.
does the small parcel and medium parcel apply to oba 24/48 packetpost accounts?
Have we heard if The box has to be 16x16x16 or can it be smaller, can it be oblong as long as it doesn’t exceed 16 on any given side?
