eBay are aff_link("https://www2.ebay.com/aw/uk/201304161408442.html","testing enabling users to sign in with their email address instead of their eBay User ID","","UK"); ?>. Users will still need to enter their password in conjunction with their email address.
I can see how this will be easier for many casual users to remember, but personally I’ve got so many eBay accounts I’ve lost track of which email address is associated with which account. However for consumers, especially if they don’t have a memorable eBay ID, their email address will often be easier to remember.
It’s a sensible change to give the option of email or User ID, in fact thinking about it I don’t know why eBay didn’t enable this years ago.
If you are in the trial you may find that email sign in sometimes fails. Don’t worry you’ll still be able to sign in as normal with your eBay user name as the test may be turned on and off intermittently.

Good to see Tamebay giving this publicity.
But, in these days of ‘phishing’ and scams, eBay should really send a message to both ‘my messages’ and to the registered email confirming this test.
Fact is most users will neither look at Tamebay (yes I know they should!) nor look at announcements.
Users need to be confident when signing in. eBay really should engage their brain occasionally.
I like it, it’s a good idea! Especially as nowadays it’s more and more difficult for “normal people” to get decent user ids without using numbers and random characters.
Well, good idea that everyone else is already using for years but as always – eBay is last to follow the trend, lol
