On the Sunday before last, Peter Capaldi was revealed as the 12th TV actor to play everyone’s favourite Timelord Doctor Who. And that’s fuelled a new interest in Who.
eBay claim that Doctor Who sales have more than doubled, with sales of 11th Doctor Matt Smith related items raising more than 80%.
However, it seems that Smith wasn’t the only Doctor to capture the hearts of Doctor Who fans this summer; according to memorabilia sales on eBay.co.uk the top five doctors of all time are:
- David Tennant
- Matt Smith
- Tom Baker
- William Hartnell
- Patrick Troughton
eBay spokesman, Steven Heywood, says; “Fans have been flocking to the site following the announcement of the new Doctor and with over 84,000 Doctor Who related live listings, eBay.co.uk offers fans the perfect platform to get their hands on unique and bespoke pieces of memorabilia.”
This leaves only one vital question that needs to be answered. Why isn’t Jon Pertwee on that list?
