Happy Christmas to you all – and Thank you

No primary category set

santa tamebayChris and I wanted to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas.

We know that you’re a varied bunch, and clever, so none of you will be offended by the use of the word Christmas. But we use that term to mean whatever festival, whichever god(s) or not it is that you worship at this time of year.

Midwinter feasting, marking the shortest day of the year, having some festive drinks, gathering with loved ones – that’s what it’s all about. And we hope you find time for all of what you wish to do. And a few days rest, if you can find them, are richly deserved.

Now, for the remainder of the year, Tamebay is on a go-slow, a Sunday service. As you know, it’s just the two of us running Tamebay and it’s become a bit of a tradition to sign off for a week or so at this time of year.

To be honest, there isn’t much to report between Christmas and New Year and we think it makes sense to take a bit of a break.

And at this time of year, it’s also a good tradition to say “Thank You”:

For reading. We know there are many thousands of you out there and we’d love to get to know you all better. But, in any case, thanks for coming by, reading and being part of Tamebay. We remain humbled that Tamebay is still the most read and visited news website out there in Britain and Europe dedicated to ecommerce small businesses. You all make that happen and we love you for it.

For contributing: we get a great deal of the stories we publish from readers. Tip offs and winks come from you and we are very grateful for the intel you send us every week. Keep it coming! 🙂 And to our numerous commenters, thank you too.

And to the various PR people and press officers, executives and employees that we harangue through the year in search of information, we thank you too for your forbearance and apologise if we are ever a pain. You are the people we come to when there’s a problem or query and we often need a quick response. Sometimes you oblige. 😉 But you are always polite and we know your job is a tough one. We’ll try not to bother you until the New Year.

And last, but not least, we thank our advertisers. You pay the bills and cover the running costs of Tamebay and mean we can keep on providing a service to readers for free. We’ve also continued to invest in the website thanks to you. You know who you are and we’re ever so grateful for your continuing support.

We’ll be back in the New Year (unless something big needs writing about before then). Here’s to 2014. And here’s hoping it’s a good one. And we leave you with a seasonal song…

All warmest wishes to you all.
