MetaPack announced today that they have acquired European shipping provider Xlogics Group.
The acquisition of XLogics Group means that the MetaPack Group now has direct integrations with over 200 carrier networks across the EU and Rest of World. The combined group can now offer its customers access to more than 3000 carrier services worldwide.
Whilst account management and customer support operations will continue as before, MetaPack and XLogics will collaborate extensively on joint technology projects and product integration, in order to bring the benefit of their continued operations and technology expertise to bear for customers.
MetaPack are currently flat out in the UK, on Cyber Monday they saw a 91% increase on their busiest day last year, the 10th December, interestingly 34% of orders were created after 5pm suggesting retailer cut-off is occurring later and later. 75 of the top 100 retailers processed just under 1 million orders on Cyber Monday.
The volume of orders was 6% lower on Monday this week than on Cyber Monday this equates to under 50,000 orders so a very small margin. MetaPack predict that next Monday will see similar volumes and peak 2013 will be characterised by three mega Mondays.
It’s always good to hear of companies doing well and 2014 is going to be an interesting year for the guys at MetaPack and European expansion should give increased options for retailers both in the UK and overseas.
Don’t forget if you want to meet the guys at MetaPack that they are hosting The Delivery Conference on the 4th of February and tickets are free for retailers.
