Is eBay planning a whole new marketplace just for brands? Enter the Plaza.

CATEGORY: eBay News

There are rumours online, which have been reported by the Wall Street Journal, that eBay is planning to open a whole new marketplace for big retailers and brands. It will apparently be called the Plaza.

The scheme was unveiled by Macquarie analyst Ben Schachter said in a report on Wednesday. He apparently learnt about it at a recent industry conference. The Plaza will reportedly allow retailers and brands to sell to internet users via a website distinct from the eBay Marketplace.

And aside from that, there are few details. You can read the Wall Street Journal article here.

eBay have said: “We don’t comment on industry rumors or speculation.”

You know what that sounds like? Not a denial.
