eBay have made some changes to Shops that seek to improve their attraction to buyers that may well require some activity from sellers.
• A billboard image to welcome buyers.
• Larger photos to highlight products.
• Social media share buttons to promote the Shop.
• Follow buttons for buyers to keep in touch.
These aesthetic enhancements are welcome and will also improve how Shops appear and function on mobile devices. The responsive design is a smart move.
Sellers will see a message in ‘Manage my shop’ inviting them to update their Shop front. This will only be available to sellers with no custom elements. It is free to update and sellers will continue to receive all their current shop benefits.
All about the shops changes on eBay.
Promotions Manager
eBay is making the Promotions Manager tool free for all Shop levels. The tool has always been free for Featured and Anchor Shop subscribers. And from 15 April, it will also come with a the Basic Shop subscription. More here.

How will this impact the likes of Frooition designs?
Like the Idea of Promotion Manage being free for Small Scale Sellers with Basic Feature. This simply allows them to compete with offers from big boys. Good move.
I am not been a fan of magnificent design on eBay from designers that does not last long with changes and does not work on mobile.
The promotion manager for basic shops is a sweetner to keep sellers from moving to their own website. This kind of functionality has been included in normal website packages for many years, eBay is way behind the times.
