APC East Kent has just processed its one millionth consignment using the popular web-based shipping solution from NetDespatch.
SNH Trade Centre, the fireside, plumbing, heating and bathroom supplies specialist, has helped APC East Kent to reach this milestone, having despatched all their premium traffic since 2005 using the NetDespatch platform.
NetDespatch works with postal and parcel carriers to provide an easy-to-use cost-free solution for retailers and shippers that automates the connection between order processing, despatch and delivery, even if the orders are received in one location and despatched from another. There are no costs involved for installation, training or support, and the system is available instantly.
“The system easily saves us three hours per day in admin work,” says Paul Roos, Depot Manager at APC East Kent, which is part of the APC Overnight network. “Imagine how long it used to take us to physically type up and print delivery address labels. It also saves our customers a lot of time, especially when the solution is integrated with their order processing system.”
The NetDespatch solution has helped SNH Trade Centre to significantly improve its despatch processes, through the seamless integration of the company’s order management system and the APC Overnight network. The solution automatically prints the correct shipping labels and pre-advises APC East Kent that consignments are ready for collection.
“Our old system was a bit fiddly,” says Anthony Faulkner, Partner at SNH Trade Centre. “The NetDespatch solution was easy to implement, seamless integration with our order management system was straightforward, and the system is very user friendly. It saves us at least two hours a day in despatch processing time.”
Customers are automatically notified when their orders have been despatched for next-day delivery, and the system enables customers to track the status of their consignments in real time.
“All new customers are automatically put onto the NetDespatch solution,” says Roos. “It’s an integral part of the way we do business, and it costs our customers nothing. However, we do have one long-time customer who still uses pen and paper for all his office admin work. He must be the only businessman we know who refuses to buy a computer.”
Earlier this year, APC East Kent was named South East Depot of the Year for the second consecutive year at APC Overnight’s annual awards ceremony. The depot had increased the number of parcels it handled for businesses and consumers by more than 15 per cent. Assessed in efficiency, customer service and punctuality, APC East Kent beat nearly 30 other depots to the title.
