Apple’s new iPhone 6 looks set to be the hottest selling product on the market when it’s released on the 19th of September. Apple have already sold out of the iPhone 6 Plus (in all variants) in the UK and the US.
In the UK the only models you can currently order on a 7-10 day lead time are the iPhone 6 16GB in either Silver or Space Grey. All other memory and colour variants of both the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus are now on a 3-4 weeks delivery estimation.
As you’d expect iPhone pre-sale orders are already being put up for sale on eBay, with the most hopeful vendor in the UK offering an iPhone 6 Plus 64GB model in gold for a massive £5000 buy it now.
If you didn’t manage to get your iPhone 6 pre-order in before Apple sold out, don’t be a mug and pay a stupidly inflated price, just hang fire for a couple of weeks until stocks are replenished. You may not be first to get an iPhone but Apple will swing production into overdrive and in a few weeks time they’ll be back down to the RRP. Hold off a few months and there’ll be some great post launch deals from the carriers.
If you have got an iPhone on order because you’re about to throw the dice and gamble on a profit, then you need to be aware of eBay’s selling restrictions.

Sellers meeting eBay minimum performance standards may list up to 8 items per week.
Sellers who’ve confirmed their personal information may list up to 5 items per week.

Sellers who don’t meet eBay’s minimum seller performance critera are out of luck and won’t be allowed to list their iPhone 6 either for pre-sale or in the immediate post-launch period. If that’s you then you may as well enjoy your shiny new iPhone and sell your older model phone on eBay.
