Brightpearl have released a new pricing plan which they say is “better aligned to the real costs of providing great service while remaining a great value to successful merchants“.
They’ve explained that “analysis shows that the costs of supporting new customers (especially the very small ones) during their selection process coupled with the costs of supporting their needs once they are live are somewhat higher than our past pricing plans have allowed us to profitably and sustainably serve“.
This appears eminently sensible, no business can afford to run indefinitely at a loss and as they say they are “keen to be able to fully support our customers with a great product and this pricing makes it much more feasible for us to do that“.
What this means for new customers is that the minimum entry price point for their “Starter” plan for up to five users is now £199 and includes the first three users, with larger plans being “Business” for up to 10 users at £299, “Professional for up to 25 users at £499 and “Enterprise” accommodating businesses with over 25 concurrent users, 50,000 SKUs, and handling over 10,000 orders per month (POA).
Previously Brightpearl was available at a cost of £69 per user per month. Effectively this now means, for companies who require 3 or more users, the Starter plan represents a small price cut. However it also raises the bar and means that companies who only require one or two users will have an increased cost, but if the benefits of Brightpearl help manage and grow your business it’s still a relatively low cost solution and very comparable with the competition.
You’ll also want to consider their Ecommerce bundle at £79 per month, Telephone Support at £19 per month and possibly Brightpearl POS at £30 per month/terminal.
Brightpearl also offer Launch Services custom tailored to each client. Launch Services undertake to set up Brightpearl quickly and accurately, with a minimum investment of your time. Brightpearl Launch Services ensure that Brightpearl is configured to your business, completely set up, all existing data is accurately migrated, and your entire staff trained.
We’ve checked with Brightpearl this morning and if you’re an existing user there will currently be no change to the price plan you’re currently subscribed to.

The price of most of these type of services seems to be increasing rapidly at the moment. The problem I see with the £278 a month (incl £79 ecom bundle) starter package is it only allows up to 1,000 orders / month (28p an order if fully utilised). I would have thought people looking for this type of service would already be doing more than 250 orders a week. Also I wonder how the pricing copes with Christmas peaks, would you have to upgrade to Professional at £578 for up to 10,000 orders for Nov / Dec or would you have to be on Pro for the whole year just to cope with Christmas? When you look at the cost of these packages per order it seems expensive. It also appears that the setup fee is virtually compulsory which from experience is probably in the thousands.
